Introducing Lynda Turnbull

Lynda's introduction to Out of Our Minds Banners came as a fulfillment of a prophetic word given to her while in the USA several years ago.

Back in Australia, God used Lynda to integrate the colourful silk flags associated with this ministry into her local place of worship. With them came an anointing which began to transform lives and bring freedom and healing in a way never before experienced.

When Lynda takes hold of a flag, the authority of God is released and the prophetic Word of God begins to flow powerfully. As she teaches the Biblical basis for flags and ministers with them corporately and individually the Kingdom of Heaven is advanced and the kingdom of darkness is pushed back. She very clearly outlines that in and of themselves the flags have no power but when used as a tool for worship, intercession and war the Word of God is given a physical representation for the spiritual principle being declared.

On one occasion while in the USA assisting David at a conference, her prophetic gifting began to flow as Lynda naturally draped a flag by way of explanation over a lady and within a short time, a queue of people lined up hungry to receive their own prophetic word. This has begun to happen everywhere she now ministers with the flags.

After gaining an understanding of why they are such a powerful tool in worship, intercession and warfare many have commented that when they now pick up a flag a sense of unexpected freedom begins to flow over them. With this understanding many are able to worship in a new way and with a new freedom and to rise up in their God given authority to wage war against the enemy.

Through the flags, Lynda has seen many who the church has cast off, healed and released into the fullness of what God has called them to. Her heart is to see supernatural restoration come in every area of the body of Christ both corporately and individually and to see the God ordained destinies of the local church and the individuals within the local church fulfilled. The Lord has led her to use flags as a means of communicating powerful Biblical truths and prophetic words.

As an anointed prophetic teacher, one of the things the Lord is using Lynda to raise up prophetic intercessory teams in many nations - Scripture refers to it as “an awesome army with flags” (Song of Songs 6:10). These standard bearers are a part of God's end time army that is being commissioned through out the earth to establish His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Lynda has worked with David outside Australia complementing the call of God on their lives to bring freedom to the body of Christ. Her call to the nations has led her from Australia to the USA.

Testimony

Recently, Community Ministry Center in Canton, Michigan invited Lynda Turnbull to come and hold a flag workshop for us. As she began to teach us the Biblical use and meaning of flags, we began to experience the power of unity as a diverse group of people came together and “spoke” the universal language of flags.

It was an awesome sight to see 30 people lifting up the large flags and moving as one as Lynda directed us, much like an orchestra conductor would direct a grand symphony. This must have been the picture in Solomon's mind when he described his beloved in Song of Songs 6:10 as “…awesome as an army with flags”. As Lynda put it, “Our enemy, the devil, is terrified when he sees a flag or standard raised.”

As each flag was hoisted into the air and began to declare and proclaim the flags name, such as Restoration, Healing, Glorious Victory etc.; the enemy was put on notice and began to flee just like the Bible says in Isaiah 59:19: “When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” As a result, many at the workshop experienced physical healing, emotional healing and deliverance.

One other extraordinary result of the workshop was the number of men in attendance and the way they were released into their authority as standard bearers. In the Old Testament, standards (another name for flags) always went ahead of the army in battle and were carried by men.

One of the most powerful moments of the workshop came when the men used the flags and circled the women while verbally repenting and asking forgiveness for wounds inflicted upon them through verbal, physical and emotional abuse. Tears began to flow down the faces of the women, who were experiencing deep healing as the men humbled themselves before the ladies and raised up the flags of “Freedom”, “Restoration”, “Joy” and “Peace” as a symbol of honor and respect.

It has been several weeks now since our workshop and our church is continuing to experience a new level of unity and power as we fly the flags during worship and use them in prophetic acts. The flags have become a very important part of how we worship. Many people have already asked when we are going to hold another flag workshop and we are looking forward to having Lynda return again soon and teach us even more on the use of flags in worship and warfare.

For any Pastors or Ministry Leaders who have never experienced a flag workshop in their church, I would say prayerfully consider it. God uses these workshops to release something fresh and powerful to His people and bring them to a new level in Him. They are informative, interactive and most of all fun!
